SamanthaPart Time Salon Manager & Holistic TherapistI fell in love with Reiki in 2001 after experiencing an amazing treatment, so decided to learn it for myself and never expected it to have such an impact on my career. I went on to learn Reiki II in 2004 whilst I continued to work in an IT Project Support role for the National Trust. My passion for treating people's mind, body and spirit fuelled my desire to learn new treatments and I took voluntary redundancy in 2005 to fulfil my dreams. Since then I have been working as a Holistic therapist in various salons around the Bristol area and never looked back. I continued to learn new treatments and took my Reiki Master level in 2007 and enjoy running Reiki courses and teaching people one on one. I joined the Edge Health & Beauty Centre later that year and loved building up a regular client base. I left to have my beautiful daughter Sophie in April 2009 and returned in April 2010 in desperate need of adult conversation! I was delighted to have been offered the promotion to Salon Manager later that year and was very keen to use my vast skills and knowledge to drive the business forward. Having previously worked in advertising, marketing and IT, I felt ready for this challenging role. We have a great team here with a wonderful treatment menu and everyone works really hard at providing the best possible client experience.

TeresaReceptionistI joined the team in November 2010 as Front of House / Receptionist after a short spell in a similar role at Stroud Natural Health Clinic. A large proportion of my work background however has been in the legal area of Local Government and solicitor’s practice so this has been quite a departure for me. I find this role a lot more rewarding as I enjoy welcoming new and existing clients to the Centre and try to ensure they have a good experience from when they first come through the door. It is of vital importance to me to endeavour to maintain and constantly improve the high standards we strive to create here. My experience of dealing with clients in the past has helped me to interact with the clients in an appropriate and friendly manner.
We are also pleased to be able to provide a wide range of additional services through a variety of self employed specialists who visit the centre:

Suzanne BarrettClinical Hypnotherapist DHP MNCH(Lic) GHR Reg.I am a qualified, experienced hypnotherapist working in Wotton-under-Edge. My main approach is solution-focused hypnotherapy, which is forward looking and does not dwell on the past. Solution-focused therapy concentrates on what do you want, rather than what you don't want. For example, you wouldn't go to the supermarket with a list of items you didn't need. I have always had an interest in the mind, in all its fascinating complexity. I derive great satisfaction from changing clients lives and enabling them to live life to the full. Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool and, unlike drug treatments, carries no risk of negative side effects. Therapy is tailored to the individual's needs and NLP and CBT techniques are used when appropriate. I trained at the well respected Clifton Practice in Bristol. Prior to becoming a hypnotherapist, I trained as a State Registered Nurse and midwife and worked as a staff nurse at Guys Hospital, London. After having children, I retrained as a teaching assistant and worked for seven years in a primary school. I qualified with the nationally recognised, externally verified HPD (Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma), am a registered member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy MNCH (Reg) and a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register. I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. The Department of Health has recommended that where CNCH registers the professional discipline in question, you consult with someone who is CNHC registered. I have undertaken further training in solution focused brief therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to Diploma level. Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with: - Weight Loss To book a free initial consultation, contact me on (01453) 845683 or visit www.undertheeedgehypnotherapy.co.uk
